Golf Cart Shipping. Built for a cart's numbers, not a car's.

Standard and lifted golf carts have a narrower track and shorter wheelbase than any car, and most weren't built for highway speed in the first place. Standard car-hauler equipment is sized around a sedan — not a golf cart.

A standard open car hauler — steel rails, wheel straps, sometimes called a "stinger" setup — is built around three numbers: a sedan's wheelbase, its tire width, and its tire diameter. A golf cart doesn't share those numbers, whether it's a standard cart or a lifted one with added height and tire diameter on top. Load a cart onto equipment sized for the wrong numbers, and you end up improvising: straps in the wrong place, or a cart that isn't actually secured the way it looks like it is.

In a lot of coastal and resort communities, a golf cart isn't recreational — it's how people actually get around. That means golf carts move for the same reasons cars do: relocations, seasonal moves, a dealer selling to an out-of-state buyer. We're already working directly with golf cart dealers on this, with a completed move under our belt and another dealer relationship on deck.

Both open and enclosed transport work for golf carts. Enclosed trailers typically have a solid, flat floor rather than fixed rails, which makes them a safer default — the cart can be tied down at whatever points actually make sense for its frame instead of rail spacing built for a sedan. For golf carts specifically, there's a second reason: most stock carts are built to go 15–25 mph, and an open hauler travels the interstate at 65–75 mph. Open transport is still viable, but only if the carrier has the cart's real wheelbase, tire width, and tire diameter before pickup day.

What we check before we'll quote one

  • Wheelbase, tire width, and tire diameter confirmed before we quote equipment
  • Honest guidance on open vs. enclosed for your specific cart, not a one-size answer
  • Experience with standard and lifted golf carts, including dealer relocations
  • Already working directly with golf cart dealers on completed moves

Submit a quote request with your cart's details and we'll call to confirm the right equipment before anything is booked.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can you ship a golf cart long distance?

Yes. Standard and lifted golf carts both have a narrower track and shorter wheelbase than a car, so they should be quoted and equipped as their own category rather than treated like a small vehicle.

Is enclosed transport necessary for a golf cart, UTV, or ATV?

Not strictly necessary, but it's usually the safer default for two reasons: enclosed trailers have a solid floor instead of fixed rails, which makes securing a narrow-wheelbase vehicle easier, and for golf carts specifically, most aren't built for highway speeds in the first place. Open transport works too, as long as the carrier has exact wheelbase and tire measurements before pickup.
